"What is the recipe for successful achievement? To my mind there are just four essential ingredients: Choose a career you love, give it the best there is in you, seize your opportunities, and be a member of a team. In no country but America, I believe, is it possible to fulfill all four of these requirements." by: Benjamin Fairless
Benjamin Fairless says that there are four essential ingredients to success. I agree with all of them. Let's take the first essential ingredient: Choose a career you love. Who would want a job they don't love? Certainly, not I. Of course it won't be smooth sailing, the person who doesn't know that is unrealistic and will certainly have his/her plate full of surprises.
The second essential ingredient is: Give it the best there is in you. Anything you love you give it the best there is in you,if not all of you, otherwise you don't deserve it. You should want to give it all you have and squeeze a little bit more in there, too.
The third ingredient: Seize your opportunities. Do whatever you can to achieve your goals, otherwise, I believe, you will feel incomplete. Doing what you can is seizing your opportunities. Think of them as gifts, everyone loves gifts. Be selfish once in a while.
The last but never the least: Be a member of a team. In life you have to work with other people, there are so many of us. We have to work together in life to live and be civil. In a team, you cannot make others feel worthless, or else your team is no longer together, it is useless. You have to learn to accept other people as they are. See their strength's and identify their weaknesses.
Ok, I apologize for this blog being so long--I couldn't help myself. The last part, Fairless says that he believes that all these things can be fulfilled in no other country but America, I disagree.
I believe America is just a little bit easier than other countries, but it is not impossible in places other than America.
There you go, my first blog entry. I hope you liked it. See ya later...alligator(s).

Hey Desiree! Your entry is well-written. I find it very interesting.
ReplyDeleteHi Desirae,
ReplyDeleteIt's obvious that you put a lot of time and effort in you post. I strongly agree with the first ingredient of success - choose a career you love. We can't possibly succeed in the field we chose if that field is not to your likings; there's a high chance that one person will fail. But it's certainly possible that one can succeed if they put effort on one thing.
