Moodle Room

Today I met up in the Moodle room. It talks about Leah's essay and how she used the writing process. Another thing I was asked is if I would have done the same writing process as Leah's. Aside from the cluster part, I agree with Leah's work. The essay allowed her to explain more of her topic as well as her thesis.

That was fun, glad to get my moodle done. I only hope now that the storm does not hit so hard on Guam. That it would be another disapated typhoon. This upcoming typhooon has a name this time, is this something I should be afraid of? The typhoon name sounds like melon, but I know I'm way off. Correct me please.

Good Afternoon my fellow classmates well today is Moddle day. Hope everyone is safe from 18W that pass yesterday, but we not out of the woods yet. Be prepared for next storm that is heading our way this weekned. Be safe everyone see next week
take care.

Bowls of Moodles

Hello Dr. Rivera and fellow classmates,

I hope everyone did well on the test this past Tuesday. I know, for a fact, that I underestimated the test and didn't study as hard as I thought I should have. Next time, I will study much harder. I hope that everyone would do the same. :)

Today is another day for a moodle session. Therefore, we must write about the Writing Process used in student demonstrations, which is on page 86. We have three more moodle sessions after today. So, it is going to be a long time before we see each other again. So, everyone do your best in school and I hope I'll see you guys again on October 15th!

Shoot balut!

no class today

Today there is no class and its not because of the storm its because were meeting online today. Make sure everyone is doing their moodle because if you don't it counts as an absent. See everyone in class next week and have a good rest of the week.

Your Classmate,
Samuel Roberto

Tests, typhoons, and trauma!

I don't think I did too well on the test. I need to study harder on the next one, seriously. Well I hope everyone's did okay and is doing okay. Two typhoons down, one more to go! I know it's bad, but I was relieved to hear that class was canceled. I was listening to the radio when they said only Gcc, Uog, and Dodea had school. I was just staring at the crazy rain coming in and thinking "What?!" in my head. It's funny how it turned out sunny though. At least I got to skip ID180. I need to remember to moodle and blog tomorrow. Hopefully the storm isn't too bad.

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

I'm happy that the test is finally over. Most of the question was easy, but I can't recall the answers for five type of tone and another question that I can't remember.I hope that we all past our test. I'm glad that I study the right content, and I can't wait to see my grade. I hope I did okay. I didn't know that UOG is close today because I don't watch the news but good thing I called before getting dress. I hope everyone will be safe from the storm. Take care of yourself, and can any of you let me know if there is class tomorrow? Thank you!
The test yesterday was pretty hard, well, not entirely. I guess it was the fill in the blank and short essays. Of course, huh? The rest was a little bit easier. I hope everyone is being safe with that storm.

Early Moodle and Blog

Hi everyone,
Because of the incoming tropical storm this afternoon, I decided to post my moodle and blog today incase there will be power outrages (which I hope not). For those of you who are waiting for the October 1 moodle topic, Dr. Rivera just posted it recently. So just like we prepare for the storm, we should post our moodle and blog earlier than usual to prevent late postings. Although late posts are going to be understandable, assuming because of the situation, it is still better that we do our assignments beforehand and not to worry about it later.

Hopefully the tropical storm will only bring slight damage to our island.

-Clare Sison

The day I pray the hardest.

Hi everyone, Hope everyone's just about ready for the unexpected. Eye for an eye, that's a bad picture. Lucky it's not a, tooth for a tooth. Dental is expensive???LOU

School cancelation!

Mother Nature! Please don't take my power and water!!!!
Hey guys, I hope you guys are prepared for the storm.
see you next Tuesday.

Moodling A Day Early

Hey guys! How are you guys putting up with this weather? Well there's no classes today, I thought there will still be classes since it's just a tropical storm. Anyhow, I was supposed to go to the Moodle room to post on the forum, but the room for October 1 is not up yet. I was hoping to go on it early if in any case my power goes out I don't have to worry about it. So, I decided to blog instead. What we were supposed to Moodle about was the Student Demonstration of All Stages of Writing Process. I hope October 1 will be up soon. Take care everyone!

Cramps during Test...

Hello EN100 Classmates!

I had extremely painful cramps during this test!!!!!
Today's test was tricky. I was stuck on answering on listing 6 big questions for brainstorming. First, I had 4 W's down- when? where? who? what? Then, my mind goes in to the black hole where I can never come back out. I couldn't leave answer with only 4 W's.. So, I put which, with, and how. HEHEHE~!! I know which and with doesn't fit in at all!!! After all, this test will guide me on to next test. If I get bad grade on today's test, hopefully I do better on next one since I will know what to expect on next test.
Oh. and COPS & CLUESS!!! I left it blank. :P

Good night classmates!!

First exam!

Good Evening Dr. Rivera and classmates
Today was our first exam for this semester. It consists of chapter one through four. I thought that filling in the blanks was hard. I guess I should study much harder. I hope you all did great!

First Test was done!

Hi everyone,
I was thankful that our first test was over. I can say that it was easy but the short essay questions required detailed answers, and that's where I put most of my effort and time . I am satisfied with my answers and hopefully I will get a high grade on that test. But amidst the length of the test, I still managed to review my answers.

In regards, with the tropical depression, I am really hoping that it will not hit us. If it were to hit us, I hope that the damage it will inflict is just minimal. It would really be depressing if the tropical depression is as worse as the one that hit Philippines.

Be safe guys and rest your tired brains from the test!

-Clare Sison

Test Today

Hey everyone! Well today was the day of our first test. I must say, it was quite easy. I guess because I studied over the weekend and all. I'm hoping all of us will pass. There was a part in the extra credit that I liked, which was to interpret the quote. I liked this part because it was one of the easiest things to do on the extra credit part. I also liked what the quote was about. There is a tropical storm in the next couple of days, I better Moodle before my power goes out. Be safe out there everyone!

Test #1

Today was our first test for EN100. It consists on what we have learned so far in class. It was easy in some parts, but the other parts of the questions were a bit challenging (I should have studied harder). The part that I like is the quote in the beginning of our test paper. It inspired me to work harder on my future assignments.
And maybe next time, I won't be late again.

No more computer lab.

The last time we met was the last time we'll be using the computer lab. So today I hope to see everyone in the regular classroom. It's our first test of EN100. I hope everyone studied so we can all get a good grade. See you all soon!

First test of the semester!

Source: www.ecenglish.com
Are you all ready and prepared? Today is the day! I am a little anxious about this test because lately I haven't been doing so well on my tests for my other classes, and for this class I definitely want to do the best. I think I studied pretty well, and I hope you all did too. Today we are finally meeting in EC206, and it has been a long time since we have been in there. I believe this will be only our third time of the semester that we are going into that classroom, if I'm not mistakened. Anyways, I am going to continue with my studying because I really want to "A'ce" this test!
See you all class!

Meeting in EC 206

Today we are meeting in our regular classroom. No more computer lab. Hope everyone had a good weekend and see you in class later. Have a good rest of the day!

Essay

Essay-A literary composition dealing with subject from limited personal and point a view.

I need not go beyond myself to find examples of love, at least the yearning for love. My home is now Guam and I have not left Manengon too far behind.
There, in ways still cherished by my traditional family, freedom is based on gender, and I am a female. My parents expect women to cook, clean and nurture.
My parents expects me to marry the man of their choice, although my brother will have the freedom to choose his own mate. If I disobey, I will no longer be recognized by my parents. It is easy to give in to such a custom: it is difficult to disobey. My parents have always believed as they do. I can not change them, nor do I want to, but wish they would accept my difference in this different place.
a. thesis-find examples of love
b. background - my parents expect women to cook, clean and nurture.
c. definition of terms- my parents expects me to marry someone of their choice.
d. quotation-If I disobeyed I will not be recognized by my parents.
e. a shocking statement.-It is difficult to disobey.
f. questions- my parents will never change, nor do I want to try.
e. questions& definitions- do I think they'll change? I'll pray they do.Lou

All Stages of the Writing Process

Hi Dr Rivera and my classmates! I hope everyone had a great weekend! This is my second blog for this week.

On Thursday' s class, we didn't have to meet face-to-face in the classroom. We met online and discussed about Student Demonstration of All Stages of the Writing Process.

Our textbook showed us Vera Harries who returned to college while she still had a full-time job as a hairdresser wrote a paragraph about "Customers Are Like Canines". Although she knew her topic rather well, she worked with some prewriting techniques that allowed her to get her ideas flowing onto paper. Vera's paragraph had clear topic sentence, four strong supports, and a brilliant concluding sentence. She moved her paragraph from an idea to a topic sentence to an outline to a paragraph. All Stages of the Writing Process made her paragraph more professional^_^

I hope everyone has a great weekend and see you all in class next week.

developing a single idea

2 Basic Paragraph Patterns

Moodle Session

It is Sunday and I am only now, posting to the blog. It is unfortunate that we weren't able to meet face to face in class on Thursday but we did have a Moodle Session. We were supposed to have read Vera's essay and discuss the Writing Process Worksheet. I hope everyone was able to post to the forum. See you all on Tuesday!

Moodle

On Thursday, we did not have to meet at the classroom for the EN100 class. However, we needed to meet at the moodle room for that day’s class. We needed to read Vera’s essay, which was completed using the writing process worksheet. We needed to post our thought about Vera’s essay. The writing process worksheet includes the three stages of writing an essay. The writing process worksheet can help you to start and finish your essay easily. The writing process is resourceful.

Tuesday’s Class

On Tuesday’s class we went back to the computer lab for our EN100 class, after a week of moodle session. I was happy to see my classmates and Dr. Rivera. On that day, we learned about chapter5- Writing the Paragraph. There are four different kinds of paragraphs, and each one has a different purpose. Introductory paragraph is usually the first paragraph in an essay, and it gives the main idea of the essay. Developmental paragraph contains 3 parts, which include subject, topic and support. Transitional paragraph is a very paragraph, and it merely directs the reader from one point in the essay to another. Concluding paragraph is usually the last paragraph in an essay, and it makes the final comment on the topic.

I hope everyone has a great weekend, and see you all next week in class.

Vera's essay

Today's assignment was about reading Vera's essay and to understand how we can organize essay using the writing process. I remember on a first day of my EN085, we had to write an essay with given topic which I totally freaked out about, but now I feel a lot more steady pulling my ideas with help of writing process.

Today I finished my moodle assignment, and I'm glad to learn and recall the three stages. Now, I knowwhat to study for the test. A reminder also to review the writer's guideline of the book. The three stages are all important steps to follow to have a good essay. Vera's essay is a good example to follow, she used all the steps to complete her final draft. It made her essay good to read, and it made sence becuase it all relate to the topic.

Moodle!

So I'm hoping that we all Moodled today. The writing process worksheet is a great guidance for students who would want to write a great essay. It can also expand our ideas about a certain topic. Well, Tuesday was our last computer lab session. Having class in the computer lab was fun. Hopefully not meeting in the computer lab will be more fun in the actual classroom. I hope everyone reviews and studies for the test. See you all soon.

Writing The Paragraph

Tuesday we went over Writing The Paragraphs. There are four different types of paragraphs. Each one has its own different purpose. There’s introductory. This is usually the first paragraph. It indicates the main idea, called the thesis. Second there’s developmental. This expands the idea. Third is transitional, very brief and directs the reader from one point in the essay to another. Last is concluding. This is the final comment on the topic.

Writing Process Worksheet

What a great tool! The writing process worksheet is a great tool for completing an error free, professional looking article. It follows all three steps in the writing process to ensure that nothing is overlooked. It includes stage one through three, including everything from freewriting, brainstorming, organizing your thoughts to create a topic sentence, and CLUESS. As long as the steps are followed correctly, a writer will be able to produce an informative, easy to understand piece of work that will keep his audience reading and asking for more.

Moodle!

Hey guys!

Today in the Moodle room we are discussing our thoughts about Vera's paragraph, which was completed with the writing process worksheet. Also why the Writing Process Worksheet is resourceful. My thoughts on Vera's paragraph was that it was easy flowing and not hard to understand where she was coming from at all. All paragraph should be like that, on topic and not going off subject. The work sheet helps a lot because you go through it in a step by step basis.

Hopefully everyone is prepared for the test on Tuesday! Good luck, everyone!

Moodle Day!

Hey everyone,
Today is moodle day and I'm finally doing my last blog for the week, but I still need to moodle. Anyways, I hope everyone's day went well. I'm a little bumbed that we didn't get to meet in class today, however, moodle days make me happy as well. On Tuesday, we have our first test of the semester, and I know we all are probably not ready for that, but I have no doubt that we would all have a hard time. We all just have to study hard and be prepared!
See you all on test day!

Absent from class Tuesday

I just wanted to thank everyone for the moment of silence for my wife's father. My wife passes her thanks and appreciates the support. She will be going back to the Philippines Friday afternoon to be with her family. The location of the viewing has a webcam for the family that can not make it home. Who would have thought, huh? Here is a photograph to share. Thank you again Dr. Rivera and class.

Writing Process and the Paragraph

Good Evening: Today topic is The Writing Process and the Paragraph. Stage One consists of Exploring/Experimenting/Gathering Information. To freewrite, brainstrom (answer questions or make lists, cluster, take notes if doing research or analazing a reading selection.
Stage Two: Writing the Controlling Idea/Organizing and Developing Support.
Stage Three: Writing/ Revising/Editing
Write the first draft then revise and edit as
many drafts as necessary.
These are the steps that we as writer's should
follow.

No more computer labs

So today is another Moodle session. I hope everyone was able to post on the writing process worksheet. I'm not really looking forward to our first test but I have no doubt that all of us already know most of this stuff because we've spent the past many classes discussing all of this so it should be nothing new. Be sure to study hard and come prepared next class. I hope all of you have a great weekend. See you all Tuesday!

Test on Tuesday!

Our test day is getting closer and closer! And the sooner we prepare ourselves, the better we can overcome our anxiety towards the test. We shouldn't stress ourselves too much if we know that we study for it. Think positive, and hopefully all of our papers will be marked "A".

Moving on to the moodle room, the topic is Student Demonstration of the Writing Process. It was so beneficial that our book gave us an example on how to apply all the stages in a step-by-step manner. Now, writing should not be so stressful then. It is still a good thing that we familiarize ourselves with the stages very well to be able to use the worksheet.

Have fun with the upcoming weekend and study for test!

Goodbye Computer Lab

I shall miss it. I got a lot of work done in there. Aside from the lesson of the day, I got to start on my blog, moodle, and comments. Today's another moodle day so it's a short break from the usual. Right now I'm in the computer lab and I'm trying to access the moodle site but it's crashing. I don't know if using this mac has anything to do with it but I'm going to try again soon. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Don't forget to study!

I Love Moodle Days

Hello everybody. I hope all is well. I just go finished with posting on the forum in the Moodle room. I think Vera's essay was really concise. She really showed a good example of what a good essay is by giving a topic sentence, supporting sentences, and a concluding sentence. I also think we should start using the Writing Process Worksheet from now on. I believe that by doing so, it will really help us organize our essay and make it more flawless. By the way guys, don't forget to study for the test on Tuesday. Have fun studying. I'll end this here. Have a great day!

Another Moodle Day?!

Hello Dr. Rivera and fellow classmates,

Today is another moodle room day reflecting on the writing process worksheet. Remember to try your best to remember these and implant them into the back of your brains so that we don't have to refer to them on paper. Also, be ready to study for the test next Tuesday! As Samuel said, we have to meet in EC206, not the computer lab. So, be sure to study and remember to meet in the right room! Plus, do not be late like I did before. Good luck studying, and have a safe and awesome weekend.

Frederick Michael B. Varias

No Class

Today is a good day because we don't have to meet in class. Now I can just stay home all day and relax until work. I still didn't do my moodle yet but I will. Hope I don't forget later. Have a good rest of the week everyone. Don't forget to do your work and remember were meeting in ec 206 next week not in the lab.

Your Classmate,
Samuel Roberto

a story stuck in my head

On Tuesday, I was happy to see EN100 classmates and Dr. Rivera. We read 2 short story to separate which paragraph is Pattern A, and pattern B. Basically pattern A is paragraph supporting subject and supporting ideas, pattern B is a paragraph with pattern A plus concluding sentence. One of the example paragraph story was about how people in the old days determine liars by making them chew handful of raw rice or placing burning knife against the tongue because they believed that lying (nervousness) would dry out saliva. I wonder how many innocent victim got killed for this?! What a interesting story. :)

Back in the Computer Lab

Back in the computer lab was refreshing after a while of online session. I'm glad that I had to see all you of. Yesterday, our new lesson was on writing the paragraph. We learned the types of paragraphs-introductory, developmental, transitional, and concluding. However, on Thursday we meet online for the moodleroom, but comes Tuesday we have our first test of the semester. I can admit that I am pretty anxious and nervous for this test. I hope everyone studies well. Have a great week everyone!

Early Dismissal yesterday!

Good Evening classmates and Dr. Rivera,

hope you guys are having a wonderful evening. Tomorrow is our moodle day again and that means we have to meet online to discuss our topic.

The lecture yesterday was about paragraphs; it's definition, parts, and patterns. Usually when I write a paragraph I tend to forget the concluding sentence, but as it appears, a paragraph doesn't necessarily needs to have a concluding sentence and it is considered to be Patter A. This pattern consists of the idea, topic sentence, and supports. Pattern B comprises of the same element, except that in this pattern a concluding sentence is present. The image on the left is a summarization on how we can organize our paragraphs. :)

After the lecture and exercises, Dr. Rivera dismisses us around 5:00 pm with a reminder for us to study for the test! Have a good evening and dont forget to blog!

The Paragraph Defined

As mentioned before, a paragraph can be defined as: Introductory; Developmental; Transitional; Concluding. To include your essay as one of the following, it all depends on certain things like format, thesis, length, and progression. What also makes a paragraph a paragraph, are the carefully chosen words that the writer uses, words that reflect one's very own personality. Although any of the four could effectively describe your essay, what truly helps define your paragraph is you.

Goodafternoon

Today we met in the computer lab. Kaori and Bella have just presented their quotes today. I most definately agree in their interpretations. Especially with Bella's quote. I do believe that success is a journey. no matter how far it is, the life you want will be there. You just have to put your mind to it.

Thankyou for sharing.

Another thing we have discussed is writing a paragraph. We talked about supporting sentences and how to conclude a sentence. I enjoyed doing the exercise,it has helped enhance our writing skills even more. I believe everyone will do well on our first test.

Hello fellow classmates and Dr. Rivera,

Welcome back to the classroom! I hope you all had a great weekend. Today, we are all in the computer lab. We are suggested by Dr. Rivera to comment at least four times on blogs. It is good so that we read and learn more about English from other people's perspectives. While we comment, we should also have constructive criticism. This allows us to see our classmates interpretation, and correct them if they have the wrong idea. Comment as much as you can!

Thank you, and have a nice day. :)

(P.S. Good luck on studying for the test next Tuesday)

Don't forget to study!

Welcome back, everyone! It feels a little weird being in the classroom again because we haven't seen each other in two classes. Right now we're having technical difficulties and I believe that there is a presenter for the quote interpretation today. Today we're going to discuss the four different types of paragraphs. They are transitional, developmental, concluding, and introductory. Hopefully every one remembers to study for our test next Tuesday!
We're finally back to class. Today Kaori and bella will be presenting, but we are having technical problem for now. Another quote to inspire all of us to do our best in life. Our test is almost coming up. I got to hit my english book and review what we have discuss. It's good to be learning new lessons in class. It helps us gain knowledge, so we can be ready for the real work in life.

Let's write paragraphs

We're all back in the computer lab. It's good to see everyone again. Today we're going to learn about Writing the Paragraph. There are four different kinds of paragraphs. They are introductory, developmental, transitional, and concluding. Right now our classmates are presenting their inspirational quotes. Let's get inspired!

REMINDER: Our first test is on September 29th. We should all review and I know we'll be ready to take it. STUDY!

The composition

When it comes to writing developing your ideas in a fluid composite is essential to writing and essay. Some of the ways to make your paper interesting is to make your intro compelling by using quotes or facts. Somtimes its good to use a question as well this way the reader can see that the essay is a persuasive essay. All these are ways to create your paper, and make it interesting to those that read your work. Remember it is your ideas and your interpretation of those ideas that can make your paper strong the rest is up to you.

Test On September 29

Hello everybody! It's nice to see you all. Well, we are just about to start on the quote presentations. I think mine will be next month, so I have to prepare for that. Aside from that, we also have a test scheduled on Tuesday next week. We will be meeting in EC206.I have to study on that. Today, we will be discussing Chapter 5:Writing the Paragraph. There are four different types of paragraphs which are introductory, developmental, transitional, and concluding. We will learn a great deal about paragraph petterns. Well, this is it for now. Enjoy the rest of you day!

Welcome Back!

So today we're back in the computer lab and I'm so happy to be back in class because it's been awhile. Our assignment last class was to discuss the importance of stage three. I hope everyone was able to post their assignments on time because it wasn't that hard of an assignment. I really like working with the Moodle Room because I just love being able to turn in our assignments via internet instead of printing out a bunch of paper that will most likely be thrown away at the end of the semester so it's all about saving the trees! Anyway, I hope class goes well and I hope everyone posts their blogs on time. Have a great day!

BACK TO COMPUTER LAB

Good Morning: Today we back to computer lab can't wait to see all you in class. Agenda for today is Writing the paragraph which covers four difffernent kinds of paragraph.
1.Introductory
2.Developmental
3 Transitional
4.Concluding

New week

Good morning everyone, looking forward to seeing everyone in class today. Hope everyone had a good weekend. It looks like were just meeting one time this week then we have moodle online Thursday again. See everyone later this afternoon, have a good day!

What a day!

Source: planetliz.files.wordpress.com
Today felt like a long, gloomy day. The weather was not horrible, but it was not great at all. I was so exhausted from the weekend that I had to ask myself so many times this morning whether I should force myself to get up and go to class. Unfortunately, my bed was very tempting for me to stay in it. I hate misty, wet days! Anyways, tomorrow is Tuesday and we all finally get to literally attend class. I'm pretty hiped for it. I hope to see you all tomorrow!

Revising/Editing

Having us Moodle last week gave me a chance to rest, but it also refreshed my memory about revising and editing. It's important to know the processes of revising and editing so that you'll have a good essay and maybe also a clearer and understandable point you want to make. See you all soon.

Sunday, September 20, 2009

I haven't done this in a while. I didn't read my syllabus and went to class when we didn't have to. It was boring beacause i had to wait for my mom to pick me up. Nothing really bug has happened except... I got my license. Woo-hoo! My mom still has trouble trusting me. It's ok though. See you all...I have to check my syllabus.

EN-100

This is my second blog for this week..
I got a cold last week from my friend's baby...
I am really fine now though :)
I just want to tell you guys and Dr. Rivera, I miss you guys so much!!!
I hope see you tomorrow!
Have a good day.

Math...

Hi, everyone!
I just got off from math class.. I got 42% on my first exam... ha
It was kind of hard for me...
I need to try my best as same as English..

Writing the Paragraph

Writing the Paragraph, first, let's hear the meaning. Paragraph-A subdivision of a written composition that deals, with one point, or gives the words, of one speaker. In today's world, we see in our book, that there are four different kinds of paragraphs. Why do you suppose that is? 1. As time goes on, there has been more and more evaluations invested, into the English Department for a more interesting collaboration. So now we have usage of different categories such as, a. Introductory Paragraph, where we read the main Idea of the writer, and called thesis. The next paragraph is b. The Developmental Patragraph, It gives more details on the story it self and expands the Ideas which keeps the reader interested, also., may continue to read and share with a friend how great this book or story is. The third is c. The Transitional Paragraph is, A brief set of sentences that points out one thing to another, and the last one is, the d. Editing Editing Editing

Okay I really need internet at home. I know it's no excuse but it would make things a lot easier.

The other moodle session was about editing. I really feel redundant talking about it because I covered it in the moodle and once again in my last blog. I suppose repeating it and having all our classmates do the same helps it stay fresh in our minds. Editing, helps justify the mistakes of our paper. No one is perfect, but going over your paper (or having someone go over it), can help you get pretty darn close. Thanks for the clarification on the grades Dr. Rivera, I'll see you and everyone tomorrow!

Hello,
Unfortunately it is the last day of the weekend and tomorrow we all have to go back to homework and studying. What a bummer! However, I am looking forward to actually attending class on Tuesday after a long week for just blogging and moodling. Today was the village of "God's Country's" fiesta, but I did not go this year. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Hope to see you all on Tuesday!

Hi! Dr Rivera and my classmates, I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Editing, the final stage and the most importent part of the writing process, involves a careful examination of your work. Writing is a process and isn't a matter of just sitting down and producing a statement. Therefore, before you submit your writing, you need look for problems with capitalzation, omissions, punctuation, and spelling (COPS). Our text book shows us one way to correct the mistakes about our writings: Read it alond. It will help us catch any awkwardness of expression, omission, and misplacement of our writing. In my point of view, we also can use one more way to correct our pappers: Switch our writing with our classmates or friends. This way will help us to find some other problems that are easily overlooked by an author. As you can see, editing can make our writings more professional^_^

I hope everyone has a great weekend and see you all in class next week.

Hello Everyone!

I have not been on the blogger since last week, and I have not been focusing on my priorities. This past whole week was moodleroom instead of attending class. I like how we had to meet online for the moodle, however I miss actually going to class. This past week has been a bummer, especially for my other classes I have. I am just glad it is the weekend, but I think we all should enjoy it, because come Monday, it is a new full week of school.
Enjoy!

Hello Everyone.

Hello my EN100 classmates and Dr.Rivera. I met in the Moodle room Thursday, but I forgot to blog due to the my busy schedule. So, I am making up for my blog.
I enjoyed reading everyone's reply on how important editing means to us.
We all have the same concept on things.

Thanks to editing, our essays are going to look good.
Hope you enjoy your weekend guys!

Late Blog Posting

I know I know I've been late. I've been busy with work and exams. Still it's no excuse so on to the two lessons that we've discussed over moodle. The first moodle session covers the stage three process of writing. The three stages include: writing, revising, and editing. I think I covered it in moodle so I'll just post it.

The first step is self explanatory. The essay isn't going to write itself. After brainstorming and freewriting, you start writing your first draft.
Next would be revising. You go over your draft to make sure it makes sense and follows a clear and concise format. Making sure you stay on topic will keep the professor reading and not mark your paper with a giant F.
Finally you have editing. This is where you do quadrouple checks for any errors in grammar, spelling, and so on and so forth.

On a side note, Laurie and I have been kind of worried about our grades for our essays since it doesn't show a grade. Also, we checked the assignments forum and it said we had a 100 but we had grades for other assignments too? Hopefully we can clarify this soon. I'll blog once more tomorrow for the two required per week. Hope you guys have a good weekend!

Hello Classmates,

How are all of you? I hope that everyone is doing fine. I just finish my math midterm test on thursday. I hope that I pass and hopefully get a good grade. Weekend is coming up, and I just got paid today. My first paycheck from University of Guam at the president's office. I'm thinking of going to the mall, but I have to study for another test on Government and politics, and I have many erands. Hopefully I set a time for me to study, because I have a habit of doing my homework last minute. I have completed my assignments on time for Dr. Rivera's class, but I have to finish blogging. Everyone enjoy your weekend, and be safe.

Class online via Moodle

Good morning everyone, how is everyone's week going so far. Yesterday was a long day for me and very busy. I almost forgot that we weren't meeting in class yesterday. I was at home and was keeping track of the time to head to class and realized that we didn't have to meet in class. I almost forgot to do my last blog, here it is. Have a good weekend everyone and see you in class next week.

Your Classmate,
Samuel Roberto

Moodle class!

Hey guys,

Today was another Moodle day, which was pretty relaxing. It gave me a lot of time to do whatever I needed to do for the rest of the day, like sleep or play games. I'm just kidding. We had to post an entry about the importance of editing. Here was mine.

"Editing is a very important part to being a good writer or creating a good paper. That is why any writing company has at least two to three people assigned to do that job. Editing consists in proofreading an entry in areas considering capitalization, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, and grammar use. These are key elements in creating a good essay. Otherwise, the essay would be not be easily read, it may not be very cohesive, or the point would not come across at all."

That's pretty much all for today. Have a great and safe weekend everyone. Don't drink and drive!
