Moodle

On Thursday, we had our moodle online session, and that was the second to the last moodle session. Defending clarifying terms was the topic of this week’s moodle.

Three techniques for defining terms:
Definition By Synonym – using a word or phrase that has the same meaning.
Definition By Category – determine a large group to which the term belongs.
Definition By Negation – explain what the term does not mean. You can include a sentence explaining what it does mean.

Techniques for Writing Simple Definitions:
Basic dictionary meaning, Synonyms, Direct explanation, Indirect explanation, and Analytical or formal definition.

Techniques for Writing Extended Definitions:
Narration, Description, Exemplification, Analysis by division, Process analysis, Cause and effect, Classification, and Comparison and contrast.

I hope eveyone had a great weekend and see you all next week.
