Organizing Support

Hi! Dr Rivera and my classmates, I hope everyone had a great day today! Thursday at class, we learned about three tools which can help you organize your supporting material: listing (a form of braimstorming), clustering, and outling(A. sentence outline B. topic outline). You will probably use only one of these organizing tools, depending on course requirements, the assignment, or individual preference.

During Thursday's class, we also learned about the most common forms of dividing and organizing ideas. In the continuing demonstration, each form is shown.

  • Narration : division of time or incident to tell a story

  • Exemplification: division into several examples

  • Analysis by division: division into steps tells how something is done

  • Process analysis: division of a unit into parts

  • Causes and effects: division into cause or effects

I hope everyone has a great weekend and see you all in the moodle room next week.

  1. Listing, clustering and outlining are one of the easiest steps that exist in my world. Without these steps our papers would most likely be messy.
