Writing Process Analysis

If you need to explain how to do something or how something was/is done, you will engage in process analysis.

Two types of process analysis

1. Directive process analysis: explains how to do things.

2. Informative process analysis: explains how something was/is done by giving data (information).

Three stages

1. Preparation/Background: list the materials or equipment needed for the process and discuss the necessary setup arrangements.

2. Steps or Sequence: acutal process will be presented here, and each step must be explained clearly and directly.

3. Order: usually be chronological (time) in some sense.

  1. This was one of the content that I believe I got wrong on one of my exams. I should have read my classmate's blogs to find out the right answers.
